Friend,
Thank you for being concerned about the problems that drugs, alcohol, and other addictive behaviors cause in our communities, and for being willing to help raise support for our Christ centered ministry, by using this form to get pledges. While there are other programs available that can help someone to become clean and sober, ONLY the truth can truly make them free (John 8:32).
We have now had over 150 souls walk through our doors in the course of the last 2.5 years. Some come to us as referrals from the Cass County Drug Court or DUI Court, some heard about us through our jail ministry, some are moms / dads seeking help for their children. Many come because they have talked to our leaders and other Life Issues students, and are seeking help themselves or trying to help loved ones.
We believe that with the knowledge and experience thatwe now have, we are ready to take the next step of growth as a ministry, just as this walk is symbolic of our desire for our students and those getting out of jail, to take that NEXT right STEP; our goals for this walk are:
1. Raise money – see listing below of needs.
2. Publicity – let the community know who we are and what we’re doing to combat addiction.
3. Team work – let our leaders and students link arms with others for a common goal.
Addiction has been defined as anything you continue to do, even though you know it is wrong / bad for you. The good news is that God love us just the way you are, but he loves us too much to let us stay that way! We believe that our past doesn’t define us, and that it doesn’t have to dictate our future; Jesus can take a dark past and make a bright future.
Life Issues is focused on imparting God’s wisdom into people’s heart and teaching life skills to help break the cycle of sin and keep it from becoming generational. Life Issues is a structured recovery program, built upon biblical wisdom and caring accountability. Our team exists to provide tools needed to break the crushing impact of wounds; that addictions and poor decisions have had. People who come to our meetings find acceptance and leave with hope; below are some tangiblethings that we want to provide to those who God brings our way.
• Benevolence fund; transportation, transitional housing, gas, food, etc.
• Counseling and Rehabilitation Services
• Monthly activities
• Expanding our facilities
• Christmas outreach
• Teaching materials and awards
• Supplies, publishing, and advertising
• Technical costs, i.e. computer equipment, cell phone, etc
